General Information About San Bernardino Central Juvenile Hall

Central Juvenile Hall, located in San Bernardino is approved to provide services for up to 277 youths, according to the Board of Corrections. All juvenile halls which provide housing to youths must be safe, humane, and secure for all occupants while they are awaiting court hearings, trial, or relocation.

When to Appear

If you minor child has been arrested for a criminal offense, or has received a citation, you and your child must appear at the San Bernardino County Juvenile court on the time and date you are instructed, or when told to appear by the probation officer.

Criminal Records

In accordance with T.N.G. v Superior Court (1971) 4 C3d 767, 94 CR 813, and Welfare and Institution Code Section 827 the San Bernardino Juvenile Court has the ability to limit access to court records of juveniles. Only certain people are authorized to view the records, including the minor, the minor's parents or guardians, the minor's criminal lawyer, and certain other people. Please note that a photo id is required in order to view the records.

San Bernardino Juvenile Hall Dress Code

The San Bernardino Juvenile Hall enforces a strict dress code. Listed below are articles of clothing which are not permitted:

• Shorts
• Bare feet
• Tanks tops

Searches at San Bernardino Juvenile Court

Upon entering the San Bernardino Juvenile Hall all purses, back packs, bags, and other items are subject to a search by security guards before entering the court room. In addition to searching your belongings, all people who enter the court must submit to an electronic screening which is used to detect weapons.
